The treatment of recent onset neck pain is completely different than for persistent or recurrent neck pain. Therapy for chronic neck pain (pain lasting longer than two months) differs greatly from traditional physical therapy (e.g. ultrasound, massage, muscle stimulation, hot packs, traction) for neck pain of recent onset. In patients with chronic neck pain, muscular weakness and loss of flexibility must first be addressed before meaningful changes can be made.
Diagnoses that respond well to MedX rehabilitation include headache, TMJ pain, neck strain and weakness, disc herniation, patients whom have undergone surgery, fibromyalgia, and disc degeneration.
Many of our patients have sustained whiplash injuries in car accidents or have been injured on the job. While for others, the cause of their pain is unknown, with a gradual onset over time.
If pain has affected your life, you may be a great candidate for our program!
